About the School
Douce Enfance Nursery & Kindergarten is a nurturing and innovative early childhood learning center in Kigali, Rwanda. We provide a warm and stimulating environment for children aged 1–6, combining the Early Childhood Development (ECD) curriculum with specialized programs for children with additional learning needs. Our mission is to foster growth, creativity, and academic success in every child.
The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Director to lead our academic programs and ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning. This leadership position plays a central role in shaping the school’s educational vision, supporting teachers, and engaging with parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and supervise the academic curriculum (ECD and Special Needs).
- Lead, mentor, and support teachers in their pedagogical practices.
- Monitor student development and coordinate academic assessments.
- Organize professional development and continuous training for staff.
- Establish and oversee academic policies and standards.
- Collaborate closely with school management and the Pedagogical Coordinator.
- Build strong relationships with parents through academic updates and guidance.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates both academic expertise and leadership skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Pedagogy, Child Psychology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching or academic management, ideally in early childhood education.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in French and English (Kinyarwanda is an added advantage).
- Highly organized, with a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to excellence.
