Learning Together, Growing Stronger
October was a joyful and creative month at Douce Enfance International School, filled with laughter, color, music, and meaningful learning experiences. Our learners explored the theme “Colors and Emotions,” using art, movement, and storytelling to express themselves and better understand the world around them.
Exploring Colors, Creativity, and Expression
Throughout the month, our classrooms came alive with crayons, paint, and finger art. Our Nursery One learners especially enjoyed discovering how to color, learning to stay within lines while experimenting with bright shades and textures. These activities supported the development of:
- Fine motor skills
- Focus and concentration
- Creativity and self-expression
Most importantly, they brought joy and confidence to our young learners as they proudly shared their artwork.
Celebrating Our October Birthdays 🎉
We were delighted to celebrate the birthdays of our October stars: Jada Juru, Jesse Kuzo, and Jael Nema. Their special days were filled with cake, songs, dancing, and shared smiles. Moments like these help children feel valued and strengthen our sense of community.
Academic Spotlight: Learning by Doing
At Douce Enfance, we believe that children learn best when they are actively involved. As beautifully expressed by Benjamin Franklin:
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
This philosophy guided many of our activities throughout October, ensuring that learning remained hands-on, engaging, and meaningful.
Event Highlight: Sharing Day 🤝
Our Sharing Day was a heartwarming experience. Each child brought a favorite item from home and practiced speaking in front of friends. This activity helped build confidence, communication skills, and respect for others, reminding us that the more we share, the more we have.
Outdoor Nature Walk & Reading 📖🌿
Storytime took on a magical twist as our learners enjoyed reading outdoors in nature. Sitting under the trees and surrounded by birdsong, children listened attentively to stories about kindness, friendship, and discovery. This experience encouraged a love for reading while helping learners connect with the natural world around them.
